Starting Fall 2018, the Teaching and Learning Center will be launching a mentor system for international student teachers. More advanced international students with experience and a proven commitment to teaching can apply to become mentors to guide those new (or relatively new) to the CUNY undergraduate classroom and provide support as they navigate the system and start their teaching careers.

The Teaching and Learning Center will provide support and training for mentors starting in August 2018. Though exact details about participation and selection in the program will follow, it will generally include regular meetings between mentor and mentee, a visit to each other’s classrooms  (or participation in the Open Teaching Initiative) and follow-up evaluation, and participation in a selection of relevant Teaching and Learning Center programming, such as workshops.
